Mercer, Robert Cecil- Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, on Tuesday, November 11th, 2008, after a very short battle with cancer. Age 48 years. Predeceased by his grandmother Elsie, uncles Gerald and Clifford. Leaving to mourn his parents Cecil and Olive; a large number of brothers and sisters: Donnie (Sharon), Wayne (Shirley), Gordon (Jackie), Darrin (Donna), Darryl, Edward, Terry, Marilyn (Dave), Sharon (Ronnie), Wendy (Randy), Valerie (Fred), Brenda, Karen, Tina, and Ashley; also leaving to mourn a very special friend and camping buddy Edward McCarthy; as well as a large number aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Special thank you to Dr. McCarthy and nurses of 4 North A, HSC. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl, on Thursday from 10a.m. - 9p.m. and Friday from 10a.m. -12noon. Funeral service 2p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, from Barrett’s Chapel, 73 Commonwealth Ave., with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. robert was a very friendly person who would do anything for anybody.
i was very glad to have a special friend like him.
he would take me off fishing and camping.
these were the things that he liked best.
i miss him so much.
i know that i will never find another friend like him again.
he is in my thoughts everyday and i will never forget him as long as i live.
i just wish that he never had to die from cancer.
it is a terrible thing to die from and he never deserved to die from this terrible disease.
i love you so much Bob and i will never forget you as long as i live.
